TEXT:

Outside:
rain slashing,
wind-tickled trees rustle,
bats rip-soar,
shredding the night sky:
black flashes illuminated by streetlamp glare,
they dart in unpredictable directions
above an overgrown garden,
a washing line dotted with unused pegs.
